DG Shipping introduces the new ‘Sagar Mein Yog’ course (DGMA Circular no 34 of 2016, dated 1st July 2026).
This course is now compulsory for ALL seafarers effective from 1st July 2026.
This is an online course (10 certifications, 19 hours eLearning).
As per the latest amendments, a new competence titled “Contribute to the prevention of and response to violence and harassment, including sexual harassment, bullying and sexual assault” is incorporated in Chapter VI of the STCW Code (PSSR), forming part of Table A-VI/1-4.
Mandatory minimum requirements for safety familiarization, basic training, and instruction for all seafarers.
This new certification requirement will enter into force on 1 January 2026.
